Your support makes all the difference.Animals are suffering unnecessarily in slaughterhouses because they are not being properly stunned, a report by the Compassion in World Farming Trust says.
Some animals have to be stunned a second time because the electric current used is too low and pigs knocked out with gas often continue fighting for breath, it claims. Peter Stevenson, the report's author, said: 'Many people are lulled by the cosy term 'humane slaughter' . . . our report reveals that the slaughter process often causes appalling suffering.'
