Lisicki through to meet Sharapova
German Sabine Lisicki, 21, beat Marion Bartoli yesterday, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 in the quarter-finals and will play former champion Maria Sharapova in the semi-final tomorrow. The other semi-final will be between Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka. MORE
Nadal fit to face Fish today
Rafael Nadal will play his quarter-final against Mardy Fish today, after getting the all-clear after an MRI scan on a foot injury sustained on Monday. Nadal has won the title on his last two SW19 appearances and is on an 18-match winning streak there. MORE
Chelsea still in Neymar hunt
Chelsea remain keen on Santos’s teenage sensation Neymar, amid claims from Sao Paulo that five European clubs had met his contract’s £40m buyout clause. Chelsea are interested in the 19-year-old and agent Pini Zahavi is trying to close the deal. MORE

Matt King will return to Australia with South Sydney, leaving Warrington after four years rather than take up an extra year’s option. “Matt has had his time in England and he wants to come home,” said the Souths chief executive, Shane Richardson. MORE

Anderson seals easy England win
England won the first one-day international against Sri Lanka last night, dominating a rain affected match to triumph by a margin of 110 runs. In Alastair Cook’s first home game as England one-day captain, England lost the toss and were inserted at the Oval. After Cook’s swift departure, rain led to a long postponement, and the game was reduced to 32 overs for each side. England reached 229, with the loss of eight wickets. Craig Kieswetter scored 61 from 56 deliveries and Eoin Morgan crafted a typically inventive 45 from 35 balls. Sri Lanka were set 232 from their 32 overs but once they were cut down to 15 for four they had little chance. Sanath Jayasuriya, playing his last ever international, was caught at point off Tim Bresnan for two. There was a late rally, as Lasith Malinga and Suraj Randiv put on 52 for the ninth wicket, but the visitors were all out for 121. James Anderson was the star bowler, with four wickets for 18 from his five overs. MORE
Durham face tight chase in vital game
Durham require another 154 runs to beat Lancashire at Liverpool in a crucial game at the top of the County Championship First Division. Durham are 27 for 3 chasing 181, although Paul Collingwood is still in overnight. Kyle Hogg took two wickets. MORE
Woods praises McIlroy’s swing
Tiger Woods believes Rory McIlroy’s swing is better than his was at the same age. “Rory’s is definitely better than mine was,” Woods said, before suggesting that he would not play at the Open: “I’m going to come back when I’m 100 per cent.”
