Flower says top six may be changed

The England coach, Andy Flower, said "not one player owns a position in the batting order" after the conclusion of the tour of Sri Lanka with an eight-wicket win in the second Test, in Colombo. The victory meant that England stayed on top of the world Test rankings, ahead of summer series against West Indies and Sri Lanka. MORE

Mikel Arteta scored for Arsenal and the Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli was sent off in a match at the Emirates Stadium that seems to have ended City's Premier League title hopes. Wayne Rooney converted a penalty and Paul Scholes scored a second as Manchester United beat Queen's Park Rangers 2-0 at Old Trafford, extending their lead over Manchester City at the top of the table. Questions about refereeing standards dominated post-match discussion. MORE

Pulis backs Crouch for England return

The Stoke City manager, Tony Pulis, said the striker Peter Crouch was "absolutely desperate to play for England" at Euro 2012 this summer. Crouch scored in Stoke's win over Wolves on Saturday, lifting them to 11th in the Premier League, and will play today at Aston Villa. MORE
