UK man's 'final' death sentence is quashed
The last man sentenced to death in the UK has had his conviction quashed. Liam Holden, 58, told a court that he confessed to murdering paratrooper Frank Bell in Belfast 40 years ago after six hours of torture at the hands of the Parachute Regiment. He was released on licence in 1989.

Lawyer for family of crash victim appears
A lawyer representing the family of a boy who died in the Swiss coach accident this year will appear at the Leveson inquiry. Sebastian Bowles, 11, was one of 22 children who died in the crash. Also appearing are former heritage minister David Mellor and Nick Clegg's adviser Tim Colbourne.
