Security has been stepped up around the Princess Royal because of a stalker who has been following her to official functions around the country. Detectives have taken the unusual step of circulating photographs of the man.

The man, who is considered a "pest" by Buckingham Palace, has done nothing to suggest he intends to harm the Princess. However, Royalty Protection Squad detectives are being supplemented by extra officers from local forces when the Princess attends functions.
