Zendaya lambasts Twitter troll over rape comment: 'This is absolutely disgusting'
Zendaya questioned whether this was something her generation thought was okay

Zendaya has lambasted a Twitter troll who asked his followers to choose a celebrity they would like to rape.
In a tweet which has since been deleted, he posted a meme referencing The Purge, a 2013 film in which all crime is legalised for 12 hours. The post included photos of Zendaya, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna and the caption read: “If the purge was real, who y’all raping?”
Zendaya, 19, a former Disney actress who has emerged as an outspoken voice on race and gender issues and body positivity, hit back at the user and condemned his reference to rape.
“This is absolutely disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself,” she said. “Is this really what my generation thinks is ok?”
“People are sick” she added.
After the user bragged about gaining her attention, she continued to shut him down. “The only thing that's lit is your immorality and inhumanity young man. I pray you find some sense,” she said.
Zendaya frequently stands up to those who criticise her and uses her vast social media presence to do so publically. In February of last year, Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic joked that the dreadlocks made her look “like she smells like patchouli oil” or “weed.” Zendaya responded with a lengthy note in which she called Rancic’s comments “outrageously offensive”. Rancic later apologised and said her remarks had nothing to do with race.
Representatives for Rihanna, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj did not immediately respond to request for comment.
