The rapper, 26, real name Cameron Thomaz, failed to make the scheduled appearance in an El Paso misdemeanor court on Wednesday on a marijuana possession charge, online court records show.
As a result, County Court-at-Law Judge Ricardo Herrera has issued a bench warrant for Khalifa’s arrest.
Khalifa was first arrested at El Paso International Airport on 25 May.
The hip-hop star – who had just performed at local music festival Neon Desert – was initially stopped because Transportation Security Administration discovered that he was travelling without identification.
“[This] led to him being sent for secondary screening,” officials explained.
“During that screening, the TSA officer located a metal container inside of the backpack which contained a prohibited item.”
While he was detained, the rapper whiled away the time by tweeting about his experience, even sharing a ‘jail selfie’ (as above), and launching the hashtag #FreeTrapWiz.
He was later released on a $300 bail.
So, where is Khalifa and what is he doing?
Not an awful lot, and probably at home, if these Instagram shots of his scantily clad wife Amber Rose – posted in the last few hours and captioned ‘Woman Crush Wednesday’ – are anything to go by:
