Sir Charles Barnard Groves, of London NW1, the conductor, left estate valued at pounds 280,142 net.

Lt-Col Walter George Hingston, of Ramsbury, Wiltshire, former Chief Information Officer to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and editor of the Geographical Magazine, left estate valued at pounds 360,448 net.

Sir Harold John Musker, of Thetford, Norfolk, chairman of the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association 1968-71, and formerly on the council of the Racehorse Owners' Association, left estate valued at pounds 2,703,023 net. He left pounds 5,000 to St Andrew's Church, Brettenham, for the upkeep of the fabric and graveyard.

Mr George Harold Newsom QC, of Bishops Cannings, Wiltshire, Chancellor of the Dioceses of St Albans, Bath and Wells and of London, left estate valued at pounds 519,541 net.

Mr Donald Arthur Wort, of Cambridge, Fellow Emeritus of Hughes Hall, Cambridge, left estate valued at pounds 456,429 net. After leaving personal bequests of pounds 69,500, he left pounds 60,000 to Cambridge University Faculty Board of Music, pounds 12,500 to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge; pounds 7,500 to Elizabeth Phillips, Hughes Hall, Cambridge, to further academic development; pounds 7,500 to the Chapter of St Edward King and Martyr, Cambridge, to establish a Distinguished Visiting Preachers' Fund for St Edward's Church; pounds 3,000 to Stockton Congregational Church, Hampshire; pounds 2,000 to the Bach Choir; and the residue to his Trustees for charitable purposes as they decide.

Sir Ernest John Ward Barnes, of Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, former ambassador to the Netherlands, left estate valued at pounds 740,289 net.

Miss Irene Scouloudi, of London N6, former secretary of the Huguenot Society, left estate valued at pounds 1,393,107 net. She left pounds 1,000 to the Huguenot Society.

Winifred Beatrice Tucker, of Croydon, Surrey, left estate valued at pounds 2,229,029 net.

Mr Thomas Edwin Williams, of Stubbington, Hampshire, left estate valued at pounds 2,530,213 net.

Mr Leslie Burnett Britton, of Luddington, South Humberside, left estate valued at pounds 1,780,822 net.

Mr James Brian Brock, of Esher, Surrey, left estate valued at pounds 1,790,859 net.

Mr Patrick Keith Drury, of Cobham, Surrey, left estate valued at pounds 1,757,375.

Mr Jack Pomper, of Addington, Surrey, left estate valued at, pounds 1,175,925 net.

Mrs Maggie Doreen Porter, of Woodbridge, Suffolk, left estate valued at pounds 1,046,649 net.

Miss Lilian Evelyn Sale, of Epping, Essex, left estate valued at pounds 484,748 net. She left pounds 10,000 equally between the nursing staff of the Treetops Nursing Home; pounds 53,000 to personal legatees; pounds 10,000 to the NSPCC, and the residue to the RNLI.

Miss Edith Mary McDonagh, of Finchampstead, Berkshire, left estate valued at pounds 1,048,714 net. After personal bequests of pounds 42,450 she left the residue to her Trustees to distribute for charitable purposes.

Mr Arthur Emanuel Bryant, of Penn, West Midlands, left estate valued at pounds 241,370 net. After personal bequests of pounds 30,000, he left pounds 10,000 to the Compton Hospice, Wolverhampton; pounds 5,000 each to the Royal Hospital, Wolverhampton, and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund; and the residue to the Cheshire Home, Penn.
