After personal bequests of pounds 70,000, he left pounds 150,000 and one-third of the residue to the Epping Forest Centenary Trust, Loughton; pounds 100,000 and one-third of the residue to Waltham Abbey; and pounds 50,000 and one-third of the residue to St John the Baptist Church, Epping.
