He left all his drawings, paintings and sculptures not otherwise bequeathed to the Manchester Art Gallery and the Jerusalem Foundation. He left bequests of more than pounds 100,000 to be divided between personal legatees.
Sir Patrick Arthur Macrory, of Walton on the Hill, Surrey, left estate valued at pounds 174,424 net. He left pounds 5,000 to Trinity College, Oxford.
Miss Eleanor Alice Burford Hibbert, of London W11, who wrote novels as Jean Plaidy, Victoria Holt, Eleanor Burford and Ellalice Tate, left estate valued at pounds 8,656,809 net. She left her estate, including her published and unpublished literary works, letters, copyright and other rights to personal legatees.
Mrs Joceylne Gledhill Russell, of Oxford, a former librarian and tutor in modern history at St Hugh's College, Oxford, left estate valued at pounds 153,712 net. She left pounds 5,000 to St Hugh's College, Oxford, for the 1980 College Appeal, together with her books on medieval and modern history and on the history of art and architecture for the College Library.
Mr Allan Wickham Giffard Birch, of Haslemere, Surrey, left estate valued at pounds 2,324,722 net.
Mrs Joan Phillips, of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, left estate valued at pounds 1,004,271 net.
