Major Austin Wilkinson Trippier, of Norden, Rochdale, former environment minister and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party, left estate valued at pounds 180,096 net. He left pounds 250 to the Rochdale and District Playing Fields Association, and pounds 100 each to the Rochdale Alliance Association Football League and Keystone Lodge 363.

Mr Arnold George Charles Lloyd, of Thorpe Bay, Essex, left estate valued at pounds 1,121,362 net.

After personal bequests of pounds 3,950, she left her jewellery and some effects to Oxfam, pounds 500 to St Lawrence Church, Warborough, pounds 300 to Help the Aged, pounds 200 each to the British Rheumatism and Arthritis Association and Ex-Services Mental Welfare Society, and pounds 100 each to St Berinus Roman Catholic Church, Dorchester on Thames, for the upkeep of the church and churchyard, the Missions to Seamen, the Seamen's Friendly Society and Barnardo's, and the residue to the Parish of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London WC2, for social welfare work.
Mrs Edith Ethel Williamson, of Chesterton, Cambridgeshire, left estate valued at pounds 661,809 net. After personal bequests of pounds 28,000 and effects, she left pounds 2,000 each to Langdon House for Elderly People, Cambridge, and Cambridge Unitarian Church, and the residue equally between Manchester University (for the study of the History of the Biological Sciences), Cambridge University Department of History and Philosophy of Science (for the same purpose), Cambridge University Department of Pathology (for the study of Morbid Anatomy, Histopathology and Cellular Pathology), Help the Aged, the NSPCC, RSPCA, PDSA, National Trust and Barnardo's.
Mr Henry Montague Smart, of Eastbourne, East Sussex, left estate valued between pounds 115,000 and pounds 125,000 net. He left his entire estate to the Labour Party.
