Jill Neate (born William Ronald Neate), of Keswick, Cumbria, mountaineering bibliographer and historian, left estate valued at pounds 127,530 net.

Mr Duncan Ian Ashton McKechnie, of Eardisland, Herefordshire, left estate valued at pounds 1,663,279 net.

Mr Arthur Glencross, of Groombridge, East Sussex, left estate valued at pounds 1,013,652 net.

Mrs Joyce Eileen Hellin, of Rhos on Sea, Clwyd, left estate valued at pounds 1,040,141 net.

Mr Charles Hollingsworth Jackson, of Bickley, Kent, left estate valued at pounds 1,040,729 net.

Mr John Henry Rivett, of London SW6, left estate valued at pounds 521,696 net. He left pounds 5,000 to Colin Wiggins, at the National Gallery, London, 'as a token of my appreciation of the enjoyment he has given me by his interesting and enlightening lectures', pounds 45,000 and effects to other personal legatees, and the residue to the Marie Curie Memorial Foundation.

Catherine Mary Ruth Shirehampton, of Sidmouth, Devon, left estate valued at pounds 1,751,267 net. She left pounds 5,000 to personal legatees, her collection of china, her Queen Anne plant holder and her silver to the National Trust, pounds 1,000 each to the RSPB and the Lord Dowding Fund, and the residue of her estate to the Devon Trust for Nature Conservation.

Sir Albert Godfrey Jeffress, of Seville, Spain, left estate valued at pounds 660,359 net. He left pounds 5,000 to Brookwood Cemetery, Woking, for the upkeep of a grave, pounds 300 to the Staff Christmas Fund at the National Liberal Club, London, his books on horses to the British National Equestrian Centre, Stoneleigh, and the residue equally between Trinity College, Dublin, and the Association of British Riding Schools, to provide scholarships for the training of riding instructors.
