A representative for the band told The Independent the band’s lead singer Larry Braggs lost his balance while performing the last song and fell from the stage on Saturday night.
Braggs was taken to hospital but has now been released and has made a speedy recovery. The band continued with their tour as usual and performed in Leeds last night.
“He lost his footing while performing the last song and fell of the stage,” a representative said.
“He was taken to hospital and had a CT scan and some stitches but was released and went straight back to the hotel.”
“He was given a clean bill of health and is absolutely fine.”
The Temptations, who are best known for the hit singles "My Girl", "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" and "Just My Imagination", were the first Motown artists to win a Grammy. They are currently on tour with The Four Tops.
Fans expressed their shock at the “horrible” incident and wished Braggs a speedy recovery on Twitter.
“Horrible accident tonight, Larry Braggs, of Temptations fell from stage at concert in Manchester and hit his head on concrete floor,” said one fan.
“Larry Braggs you were amazing last night.. Really hope you are ok after such a horrid ending to a fantastic show,” said another.
“My dad just watched The Temptations at Manchester Arena and the lead singer has fallen off the stage. Sounds horrific.”
Nevertheless, others commended Braggs’ performance in Leeds last night given the incident.
“Incredible performance from the awesome Larry Braggs last night, given what happened 24 hours earlier. Take a bow sir @larrybraggs!” said one.
