Chloe Grace Moretz and Selena Gomez have their say on Kanye West and Taylor Swift feud

Selena Gomez and Chloe Grace Moretz appear to have waded into the ongoing Kanye West-Taylor Swift feud and have expressed their frustration at the triviality of celebrity clashes.

Both Gomez and Moretz Twitter tirades appear to be indirect references to Kim Kardashian West’s decision to leak a video of her husband, West, discussing the lyrics to the controversial song ‘Famous’ with Swift on the phone.

The lyrics to West’s song include: “For all my Southside n****s that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.” The song was followed by months of quarrelling between the two parties over the much-debated lyric.

After West released the song, a representative for Swift rapidly released a statement denying reports she had approved the lyric: “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b**** famous.’”

After facing criticism for the song on social media, West issued a series of tweets in which he claimed he “called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line,” that she “thought it was funny,” “gave her blessings,” and even “came up with” the lyric.

However in yet another twist, last month, Kardashian-West told GQ, Swift had signed off the infamous line and there was video footage of the exchange. On Sunday night, Kardashian-West went further and uploaded a series of short clips of the phone conversation between West and Swift to her Snapchat account. In the clip, West can be heard reading his lyrics about Swift from his new song and asking for her approval. However the clip does not include the specific line “I made that b**** famous.”

But West does read the majority of the lyrics before requesting Swift’s approval. “It’s obviously really tongue in cheek, either way ...," Swift answers. "And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice.”

She also says she would defend West to the press. “If people ask me about it, I think it would be great for me to be like, ‘Well he called me and told me the line before it came out. Joke’s on you guys; we’re fine.’"

Gomez, 23, an actress and singer and former Disney star who is close friends with Swift, appears to have made her view known on the dispute. She has argued that there were more important issues for celebrities to use their platform to raise awareness around.

“There are more important things to talk about... Why can't people use their voice for something that f***ing matters?” she wrote on Twitter.

“Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form,” she added. “This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh”.

Moretz, 19, an actress and singer, also appears to have railed against the inconsequence of celebrity feuds.

“Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what's ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world,” she wrote on Twitter.

Khloe Kardashian has also reacted to the feud. Khloe tweeted: "I'm dying" and added: "Kim is a savage! Don't f*** with her man hunni".

Swift has responded to Kardashian West’s decision to upload the recording to Snapchat and has accused West of “character assassination”.

Swift said West promised he would play the song for her but she did not hear it before it was released: "While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard".
