The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, opens Parliament. The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, opens the new headquarters of the Disabled Driving Association at Ashwellthorpe Hall, Norfolk. The Prince of Wales visits the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia; and, in Oman, has an audience with Sultan Qaboos. The Earl of Wessex attends, with the Queen of Norway, a performance of Romeo and Juliet given by the Norwegian National Ballet at Sadler's Wells, London EC1. The Princess Royal, Commandant- in-Chief, St John Ambulance, attends a Youth "Social Care" reception at Buckingham Palace. Princess Alexandra attends the Gilded Dragons Gala at the British Museum, London WC1.
Changing of the Guard
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.
