The 46-year-old producer, also known as Puff Daddy and P Diddy, has joined forces with Michigan local Eminem, Mark Wahlberg and Wiz Khalifa to provide vital help for the residents.
The news was released in a statement issued by Combs’ media platform.
“AQUAhydrate investors Mark Wahlberg and REVOLT chairman, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, are teaming with Eminem and Wiz Khalifa to donate one million bottles of AQUAhydrate to the people of Flint," the statement said.
“The initial donation of five thousand cases is making it’s way across the country and is expected to arrive early next week.”
It added that the media company was “working closely with Michigan state and emergency management in a long-term commitment until the water issue is resolved”.
Combs and Wahlberg first became the face of the Los Angeles-based bottled water firm back in 2013 after both invested in the company.
The Bad Boy Records founder has frequently been outspoken about Flint’s water crisis.
On Instagram last week, he reposted a video which included the words: “This is a racial killing. Flint MI is 60% black. When you knowingly poison a black city, u r committing a version of genocide”.
Big Sean and Cher are among a number of other celebrities who have also pledged support and raised awareness of the area’s plight.
The public health crisis first began in 2014 when the city switched water sources from Detroit to the Flint River and corroded pipes allowed lead into the drinking water.
