Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Model Tania Bryer caught the public's eye as a weather presenter on Sky News. She is now the London correspondent for CBS's 'Showbiz Weekly'. She can currently be seen on QVC, where she has launched her own jewellery line.

If I weren't talking to you right now I'd be...

Trying to juggle being a mother with my work and charity commitments.

A phrase I use too often...

"I know what you mean."

I wish people would take more notice of...

What I have on the inside, rather than what I have got on the outside.

A common misperception of me is...

I am a bit intimidating. People are quite surprised when they find out I'm actually quite down to earth and friendly.

I'm not a politician but if I were...

I'd try to implement a more peaceful society. I feel strongly that we live in a world with far too much conflict.

The most surprising thing that happened to me was...

My TV career. It all started when I was in a meeting at Sky about a job behind the scenes. I was asked to audition as a weathergirl. Two weeks later I was on air. TV presenting was something I fell into completely by chance.

I'm good at ...

Listening. Friends will often call me. I'll share my feelings and experiences and see if that helps them.

I'm very bad at ...

Cooking. I find it very difficult. My kids are generally rather diplomatic, saying they actually want their Mummy's burned chicken for dinner.

The ideal night out is ...

Going to the theatre with my children and seeing the smiles on their faces afterwards.

In moments of weakness ...

I eat far too many chocolates and sweets. I have an extremely sweet tooth.

You know me as a TV personality but in a truer life I'd have been ...

Working in politics. I graduated with a bachelor's degree majoring in International Politics at Georgetown University in America.

The best age to be is...

Whatever you feel most comfortable at. Every age teaches you something different. I find a lot of women get very concerned about hitting middle-age when in fact it's a positive thing. With age comes wisdom.

In a nutshell, my philosophy is this ...

You're in the right place at the right time to learn what you need to know about yourself.
