Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Craig, 18, is frontman of the Yorkshire-based indie band One Night Only, whose debut album 'Started A Fire', released by Vertigo Records, reached the top 10 earlier this year. Their current British tour continues until 13 March

If I weren't talking to you right now I'd...

Probably be in college dreaming of doing what I'm doing right now.

A phrase I use far too often is...

"Good vibes".

I wish people would take more notice of...

Global issues. We need to listen to the scientists a bit more if we're going to make the world last a little longer.

A common misperception of me is...

That I look like the singer of The Kooks.

The most surprising thing that has happened to me...

When we got our top 10 single. It was our second single and we expected it to be in the top 40, or maybe in the 20s but not in the top 10.

I am not a politician but...

If I were I'd make school dinners a bit better and erase all those unnecessary things you learn in education. We'd be better off including key things like how to pay taxes.

I'm good at...

"Fight Night Round Three" on Xbox.

I'm very bad at...

Ballet. Not that I've ever done it. I imagine I'd be very bad though.

The ideal night out is...

Go to a really nice restaurant and then to a not-too-mental club and get on the vibe in there. Then maybe go back to someone's house to drink some booze.

In moments of weakness I...

Stay by people who are close to me and try to be positive. You don't want to be on your own when you're feeling down.

You know me as a musician but in a truer life I'd have been...

Some sort of insane sportsman. Maybe an explorer.

The best age to be...

18 always seems like a good one.

In a nutshell, my philosophy is this:

Just try to crack on and be happy.
