The 50,000 sq ft studio complex in Minnesota, which includes a recording studio and nightclub, is set to be turned into a pilgrimage place for aficionados of the iconic singer.
Prince’s long-time collaborator Shelia E. discussed possible plans to transform the home where he passed away at the age of 57 into a museum commemorating his lifetime of achievements and enduring legacy.
“We're hoping to make Paisley what [Prince wanted] it to be. [He] was working on it being a museum,” she told Entertainment Tonight. ”He's been gathering memorabilia and stuff from all the tours, like my drums and his motorcycle.“
“There's a hallway of his awards and things, which he really didn't care about too much, but he displayed it for the fans because he knows that they would want to see it. There's pictures of him all down the halls, different pictures. Some you've seen before and some never,” she also said.
Prince’s 55-year-old sister, Tyka Nelson, could be in line to inherit the music superstar’s estate and his secret selection of unreleased material. Under Minnesota law, the superstar’s estate could be left to her unless he left a will stating otherwise because she is his closest living relative.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out on Prince’s body but a cause of death may not be revealed for weeks to come.
