Despite having a licence to kill, Pierce Brosnan has been stopped by American airport security as he tried to a board a plane with a 10-inch hunting knife.

The Irish-American James Bond star, was reportedly stopped by US agents with the knife in his hand luggage.

The 62-year-old was eventually allowed to continue his journey through Burlington Airport in Vermont after the issue was resolved, according the local police department.

In images allegedly taken on Sunday, Mr Brosnan was seen removing his belt in the security area and speaking to staff members.

Mr Brosnan was travelling with his son Paris, 14, and was said to be "furious" during the incident according to the Mail Online.

The actor, who was believed to be travelling to Detroit, was heard saying to his son: "I can't believe they're doing this".

A spokesman for Mr Brosnan was unavailable for comment.
