Patricia Arquette and her son are to testify in favour of Argentinian musician Paul Rossi, it has been reported.

Rossi split from actress Arquette when their son Enzo was one month old, but he remained close to his son and former partner. He is now divorcing his wife Kerry-Ann Johnston-Rossi, who claims that he has been "verbally abusive" and "threatening", according to documents seen by website TMZ.

It is reported that Oscar-nominated Boyhood star Arquette and her son will vouch for his "parenting abilities, lack of any violent or angry tendencies."

The trial date is set for March.

The Independent has contacted Arquette's agent for comment.
