One Direction have topped a list of the richest Brits under the age of 30, with a combined fortune of £80.02 million.

This makes the third year in a row the X Factor alumni have topped Heat magazine’s ‘rich list’, though it is the first time since the departure of Zayn Malik.

Despite losing one-fifth of the group, the band have actually earned more collectively than in 2014, having made an extra £4.56m on last year.

Malik is one of two new entries in the top 10, however, having come in at number eight with £20.52m.

Singer Ed Sheeran debuts on the list at number six with an estimated fortune of £35.2m.

Elsewhere, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, the main characters from the Harry Potter franchise, are still occupying the top 10, having placed at number two, five and seven respectively.

Now in its fifth year, the heat Rich List lays bare the wallets of Britain’s wealthiest young stars.

A panel of industry experts analysed the stars’ financial dealings including TV shows, movies, record sales and product endorsements.

Each entry has to be an entertainer, under the age of 30 and born in, or chiefly reside in, the UK.
