Max Petitpierre, politician, died Neuchatel, Switzerland 25 March, aged 95. One of Switzerland's most respected statesmen, he was president three times, foreign minister from 1945 to 1961. Switzerland became the first Western country to take up diplomatic relations with China during his office. President of the International Comittee of the Red Cross.
