Your support makes all the difference.John H. Dessauer, businessman, died 12 August, aged 88. Executive Vice-President and Director of Research of the Xerox company. He had transformed the small US manufacturer of photographic products (then known as the Haloid Company) into a billion-dollar copier company. In 1945, after reading an article about the process of electrostatic photography - later called xerography - he brought together the businessman Joseph C. Wilson and the inventor of the new process, Chester Carlson. The first copier went on sale in 1959.
