General Stefan Guse, army officer, died Bucharest 29 March aged 54. A key figure in the overthrow of the Ceausescu dictatorship in December 1989 when he disobeyed orders and a week later was one of the leaders of the dictator's opponents. Appointed commander of the Romanian 2nd Army in 1990.
