Dr Mostapha Kamill, physician, died London 9 December, aged 81. The son of the chief of police in Cairo, he was the first non-Briton to be commissioned into the Royal Naval Voluntary Reserve. Awarded the George Medal, 1940, for removing an unexploded bomb from an emergency children's ward. Took British citizenship after the war, and worked as a general practitioner in Kensington for nearly 50 years. Broadcast in the mid-Forties as the 'Radio Doctor' for the BBC.
