From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.North West, the two year old daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-West, has been filmed telling the paparazzi to stop taking photos of her in public.
The press have been heavily criticised for swarming around the toddler and continuing to take photos of her while she was walking somewhere with her minder.
Video footage shows the toddler telling a group of paparazzi “I said no pictures!” after being surrounded.
She is repeatedly photographed and led past a man with a large video camera who is standing in her way.
The press are heard laughing when they hear her speak, but carry on regardless.
Many people seemed to find the clip funny, with the child being labelled a 'diva', but the bleak footage caused others to feel disappointed that a two-year-old could be hounded by the press as aggressively as a grown adult.
“What a world we live in. This is sad. Leave the kids alone,” one person Tweeted.
“The fact she even knows that phrase at her age is the saddest part. Will she ever have another child?” said another user.
The Independent has contacted Kardashian's publicist for comment.
