She may be the Princess Royal's daughter and an Olympic medallist but the guard at the Cheltenham parade ring would not let her pass.

Together with with husband, the former England rugby player Mike Tindall, she could not persuade the guard to let them pass - but they were later allowed through and seemed to laugh off the incident at the chilly race meeting.

The 31-year-old seemed more bemused while watching the Stan James Champion Hurdle , which was won by Hurricane Fly.
