The body of Misty Upham has believed to have been found, police searching for the actress have confirmed.
She has been missing for 10 days and was said to have been suicidal at the time of her disappearance. The 32-year-old was last seen walking from her sister’s apartment south of Seattle.
The body of a woman thought be of Upham was located in a ravine near the White River in the US state of Washington.
The body has not yet been officially identified and the cause of death is still unknown, but Upham’s purse with identification was reportedly found at the scene.
The actress – who acted in August: Osage County and Django Unchained – had stopped taking medication for bipolar disorder and anxiety, her father Charles Upham confirmed.
She had moved to Seattle to care for Mr Upham who had suffered a stroke.
Upham was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her performance in 2008's Frozen River. She also acted in television shows Skins and Big Love.
"So so sad to hear this news — all our thoughts are with her family and with her beautiful spirit," Streep told The Hollywood Reporter.
