Your support makes all the difference.Everyone knows what Michelle Obama, the First Lady of the United States, likes to talk about: she is summed up in the American version of The Office as: "Wife of Barack, loves gardening, wants to wipe out fat children."
The Obamas also know how to get their message out there: the President used Zack Galifianakis' "Between Two Ferns" to promote Obamacare last year and now his wife, Michelle, has used the "shouty" comedy of Billy Eichner to expand the campaign to get more children eating fruit and vegetables.
Eichner is known for his "Billy on the Street" video series, where the loud, brash and incredibly funny Eichner plays a mock game show on the streets of New York with random strangers.
It was through this game that Eichner met the amazing Elena, who he took with him on the Amtrak ride down to Washington, DC. to meet Obama at a grocery store.
Obama was joined by Big Bird, star of Sesame Street, one of PBS's most famous shows, which the First Lady has appeared on numerous times.
"We’ve got the Sesame Street friends like Big Bird teaming up with the produce industry to try to help make eating fruits and vegetables fun and exciting for kids and their parents," the First Lady says in the video for Funny or Die.
Elena is taken aback when meeting the First Lady, with Obama saying, "You would have never thought that you were going to meet me in a grocery store with Big Bird." Elena replies, "No, I've never even been in a supermarket for about ten years."
Obama, Elena and Big Bird then play a round of "Ariana Grande or Eating a Carrot?", which seems pretty straight forward: always choose the fruit or vegetable. Yet, this being an Eichner game, it's never quite that simple.
Questions ranged from "Gwyneth Paltrow makes a fantastic broccoli and arugula soup. Does that matter?" to "Who is more deserving of a Kennedy Centre honour: Martin Short or a box of frozen corn?" Obama went for corn in the latter, with Eichner responding: "No, Martin Short. He's a genius!"
Eichner then asks Obama to slow dance with Big Bird while he sings Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing". Later on there is the bizarre scene of Obama pushing Eichner in a shopping trolley while he reads Gwyneth Paltrow's 1998 Oscars Acceptance Speech.
Well, you know, anything for the cause of healthy eating.
