The orthodontist was so amused by the incident that he shared the anecdote online, where it was shared thousands of times - capturing the attention of Ms Robb herself.
The 17-year-old said: “Wait. That girl is me. That is my orthodontist’s Tumblr. This is a post about me? I’m going to kill myself."
She went on to share a photo of her orthodontist, writing: “This is literally my orthodontist and he's the chillest person I have ever met even though he eXPOSED ME ON THE INTERNET.”
Ms Robb later clarified the phrasing, saying she had no intention of harming herself.
And to the teenager’s amazement, Jordan, who plays the role of Erik Killmonger in Black Panther, has now offered to pay for her replacent retainer.
“Since I feel partly responsible for breaking your retainers let me know if I can replace them,” the actor tweeted her.
She expressed delight that Jordan, who is also known for his role in Creed, had chosen to follow her on Twitter.
For those worried about the plight of the retainer itself, her orthodontist managed to glue it back together.
