Matthew Perry has bolstered the hopes of a Friends reunion by suggesting the cast might consider coming back together for more episodes.

The actor most famous for his turn as the socially awkward, sarcastic Chandler Bing cast doubt over reunion speculation when his spokesperson confirmed he would not be attending a two-hour tribute special because of rehearsals for his new play, The End of Longing.

But after dashing the hopes of fans, Perry has hinted Monica and Chandler could share a screen together once again by suggesting the Friends crew might consider new episodes.

“I think the actors would actually be open to it,” he told Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. “I think we would be open to doing something, some kind of, maybe, some TV special. I don’t know about a movie.

“We’ve talked about it a little bit over dinner […] It’s a really good group, there isn’t a jerk in the group and that really saved us for 10 years."
