Your support makes all the difference.Mariah Carey has rebuked Australian tabloid magazine Women’s Day after they reported rumours of her breakup with Australian billionaire James Packer.
Women’s Day, Australia’s best-selling weekly magazine, speculated about different reasons for couple's alleged breakup.
Carey has now taken aim at the publication in a cryptic but clear message (if you understand Mariah lingo) posted on her Instagram account.
“#realfriends who don’t read Woman’s Day #wedontknowyou We love you #Australianlambs,” she captioned a picture of herself and her friend and manager Stella Bulochnikov.
The “we don’t know you” refers to the infamous line she once delivered when asked about Jennifer Lopez and Australian lambs are the Australian contingent of her fanbase which has long been dubbed her “lambily”.
Carey’s representative confirmed she and Packer had an argument while on holiday in Greece and have not spoken to each other since.
“Mariah Carey and James Packer had a fight in Greece. They have not seen each other since,” her representative told Entertainment Tonight.
“The fight was not because of cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah. James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world”.
“They are trying to work it out but right now they are not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it and plan to release a statement about their future.”
Packer and Carey got engaged in January of this year after dating for just under a year. Carey's debut reality series Mariah's World is set to debut on 4 December.
The Independent contacted a representative of Women’s Day and Carey for comment.
