Your support makes all the difference.Since the trailer was released at Comic Con in July, anticipation for Suicide Squad has been massive.
The film, due out in 2016, focuses on the supervillains of the DC comics universe, including The Joker, Harley Quinn and Deadshot, who are saved from death row by the US government and forced to work as black ops agents in highly dangerous missions.
Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith and Cara Delevingne are all part of the titular squad, and have taken their devotion to their characters pretty seriously by giving each other matching ‘SKWAD’ tattoos during filming.
Joel Kinnaman, who stars in the film as military officer Rick Flag, had his tattoo done by Smith. In a post on Instagram, he praised Smith's acting but said his tattooing skills were ‘like watching a drunk baby fly a helicopter’.
Meanwhile Robbie, who got her big break in Neighbours, gave director David Ayer his Skwad tattoo while she was in her full Harley Quinn make-up.
The incident mirrors the now famous story of the Lord Of The Rings cast getting tattoos of the word ‘nine’ spelled in Elvish after shooting the first movie, The Fellowship Of The Ring. Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen were among those who visited a New Zealand tattoo parlour to mark their time together.
Still, while the LOTR cast spent years together bonding during remote shoots and being involved in one of the most iconic fantasy films of all time, this Squad (or 'Skwad') might end up regretting these if the film turns out to be a total flop.
