Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Macaulay Culkin took the whole ironically wear a T-shirt of a pop culture star thing to new levels in his latest Twitter pic, donning one that featured a photo of Ryan Gosling wearing a T-shirt of him in his Home Alone days.

Culkin was obviously keen to draw attention to the fact that the most lusted-after man on the planet wears his image as a fashion symbol, and donned a pair of shades similar to the Drive actor's to complete the look.

It's possible he was trying to draw attention to their similarities as child acting stars, but more likely he was just being mega ironic dude. Culkin's new band is caked in it after all, being named Pizza Underground after the 60s band Velvet Underground and New York's resurgent hip snack.

Now it's over to Patrick Stewart to wear a T-shirt of Macaulay Culkin wearing a T-shirt of Ryan Gosling wearing a T-shirt of Macaulay Culkin, then the Darth Vader parody account to wear a T-shirt of Patrick Stewart wearing a T-shirt of Macaulay Culkin wearing a T-shirt of Ryan Gosling wearing a T-shirt of Macaulay Culkin and kill off the joke once and for all.
