The Loretto/Heriot-Watt University Essay Prize this year is entitled 'Man's Influence on the Climate'. It is open to all pupils in full-time education, and the prize will be an overnight stay in London with visits to the Royal Society and the Meteorological Office. The prizewinner will be announced at the 1993 Loretto/Heriot-Watt Lecture, to be given by Sir John Mason, former Director General of the Meteorological Office, in the Loretto Theatre, Musselburgh, near Edinburgh, on Wednesday 12 May.
