The star, 37, was set to appear on stage for his final performance in Melbourne on the evening of 10 September before he was suddenly taken ill at around 2pm, Australian magazine Women’s Day reports.
A women named Loraine Kelly, whose own daughter was a patient at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond booked in to undergo an MRI scan, told the publication that she saw West’s entourage and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, rushing him through the back door of the hospital, attempting to conceal his identity by covering his face.
She said he was put on a stretcher before being carried off to the MRI room.
"Everyone was massively panicked," she said. "Everyone was moved out of the waiting and consulting rooms."
The mother further claimed that West’s security team asked for her daughter to be removed from the room she was in before she had finished having her scan – though this has not been confirmed by the hospital or representatives of Kanye West, who are yet to comment on reports.
However, E! Online has since reported that the couple left the hospital at 4.30pm and returned to their hotel.
"[Kanye is] fine and didn’t have a major health scare or seizure," a source is quoted as saying.
"He just suffered a migraine and went to the hospital simply as a precaution."
A spokesperson for West is yet to respond to request for comment.
