It became clear Kanye West had some degree of fascination with naked celebrities after his controversial video "Famous" came out in the summer. After all, it featured uncannily lifelike waxworks of Donald Trump, George W Bush, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Chris Brown and many more sleeping in their birthday suits on crumpled white sheets.

But now the rapper has stepped it up a notch and gone so far as to reportedly bestow Mr Trump with an arty book containing nude pictures in a meeting in person. To the dismay of many onlookers, West met with the President-elect at Trump Tower in New York on Tuesday.

West sauntered past the press beneath the gleaming 58-story skyscraper in midtown Manhattan at around 9.13am. The pair then emerged from the tower’s gold elevator together at around 9.53am and posed for photos for patiently awaiting media.

According to TMZ, the unlikely duo met for 15 minutes and in that time West gave him the arty book containing nude pictures. However, sources said the memento will not be gaining a coveted spot on the billionaire property developer’s no doubt opulent coffee table. The book is said to be a collection of images, such as people wearing hoodies, a display of tattoos and some nude images.

There is reported to have been no talk of West performing at the inauguration and no discussion of West participating in the Trump administration.

His daughter, Ivanka Trump, who is one of the vice executives of the Trump Organisation and is said to be Mr Trump’s “favourite”, was also at the meeting. She appears in the photos alongside her visibly jubilant father and West - who recently endorsed Mr Trump.

When probed about what they discussed after the pair emerged from the meeting, Mr Trump said: “Just friends and he’s a good man. We’ve been friends for a long time.” Mr Trump serenely concluded: “We discussed life”.

West ignored questions about whether he is still considering throwing his hat into the ring to become president or whether he would perform at Mr Trump’s inauguration. He kept it short and sweet, saying: “I just wanted to take a picture right now”.

Later in the day, the rapper tweeted that he met with Mr Trump to discuss “multicultural issues” including bullying, education, and violence in his hometown of Chicago.

West whipped up controversy when he announced he would have voted for Mr Trump at a concert in November. The rapper’s interest in politics goes beyond his unlikely endorsement though - he has previously announced his plans to run as President in 2020. In the summer West explained he did not hold political views but was driven by his perspective on humanity and in a concert in November he reiterated his political ambitions, saying his focus would be on education and that his campaign would use a different political model.
