Joanna Lumley's career-defining turn as the louche magazine editor Patsy Stone in the cult BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous was followed by appearances in major films, journalism and extensive human rights activism.

There is rarely a quiet moment for the British actress, who is now back on the promotional tour with fellow co-star Jennifer Saunders for the highly-anticipated return of the pouting, cigarette wielding, vodka-drinking and eternally badly behaved Ab-Fab duo.

In one interview, Lumley asked by Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid, how she could be 70 and “still look so fabulous”.

“I love the way you just lowered your voice to say that,” came her sarcastic reply. “Yes, I’m still able to speak although Jennifer sometimes has to help me to move me along.”

“Just tell her to looked a bit older,” quipped Saunders.

“It’s just fabulous being 70,” joked Lumley. “We all adore it.”
