Since announcing their divorce, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have been dogged by speculation they could have reunited.

The couple so favoured by the tabloids during their ten years together continue to be a source of great interest during their separation.

Their rumoured reconciliation has been largely based on unnamed ‘sources’ quoted in tabloid magazines and pictures of the pair spending time with their children as a family. This includes relocating to London together while Affleck was filming Batman.

Neither has filed for divorce yet, encouraging hopes among their fans the couple, who married in 2005, could be putting it on hold.

Amid growing speculation, Garner has stepped in to clarify that their relationship is simply a reflection of how many families choose to raise their children.

“We are definitely a modern family,” she told Today. “We’re doing really well.”

“Ben was working in London on Justice League, and I felt like, well, the kids should have that experience. And he and I are great friends and we just all went en masse.”

“It has to be [about being a team]. You don’t have a choice.”

Affleck summarised the reality of their situation shortly after Garner’s candid Vanity Fair interview.

“Jen’s great,” he told the New York Times. “She’s a great person. We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in.”
