James Corden has been honoured with an OBE in the New Year Honours list and it turns out most Twitter users don't think he's worthy of it.

Many have questioned what his contributions to Britain are and asserted that he was undeserving of the accolade. Incidentally, he was recognised for his services to drama.

Other 2015 OBE winners include Sheridan Smith (who Corden acted alongside in Gavin and Stacey), Emily Watson and Oscar-nominated screenwriter William Nicholson.

Corden said he is “thrilled, overwhelmed and honoured to be recognised in such a way” and that his family are “very proud”, but Twitter indicates that they may be among the few to be pleased for him.

Corden, who received mixed reviews for his hosting role at the 2014 Brits, is known for his performances in Gavin and Stacey (for which he won a BAFTA in 2008 for Best Male Comedy Performance), The History Boys and One Chance, in which he plays Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts.

In March 2015, the actor will replace Craig Ferguson as CBS chat show host on The Late Late Show, which is expected to see his US profile rise considerably.
