The boxer is accused of beating, blackmailing, imprisoning and stealing from Shantel Jackson. The 29-year-old model alleged that he invaded her privacy and humiliated her by sharing a picture of an ultrasound scan online and claiming that the couple broke up because she aborted their twin babies.
She also alleged that he threatened to post naked pictures of her if she didn’t remove a photograph of her with rapper Nelly at a basketball game in April.
In court documents, she claims her former partner committed “outrageous acts” which caused her “pain and humiliation”. He allegedly subjected her to physical and verbal abuse, including an alleged incident during which he held her at gun point and threatened to shoot her. He is also accused of swearing at Jackson, telling her ‘You’re not s**t without me.”
The sportsman – who ranked 2013’s highest paid boxer by Forbes – allegedly kept her “prisoner” in her Las Vegas home and stole from her.
She is seeking unspecified damages against Mayweather for battery, assault, defamation, invasion of privacy, false imprisonment, harassment and infliction of emotional distress.
The two met in 2006 and they have been in a relationship for the past seven years. Mayweather will fight in a rematch against Marcos Maidana on 13 September in Las Vegas.
The boxer was imprisoned for two months in 2012 after being charged with two counts of domestic abuse against former partner Josie Harris.
A spokesperson for Mayweather could not be reached.
