A slew of Mumsnet users and typically caustic Katie Hopkins had questioned the socialite’s ability to look after her children, after an inquest on 23 Tuesday revealed that Geldof has left her one-year-old son, Phaedra, alone for up to 17 hours after her fatal heroin overdose.
According to The Sun, her 31-year-old sister, Fifi, reacted by sharing a picture on her Instagram page, which read: “Don’t keep calm and f*** this. F*** that. F*** you. F*** off.”
She added the following caption: “Sums it up nicely about how I’m feeling about the viciousness today. Maybe now she’ll be allowed to RIP.”
An Instagram user then commented on the image: “Think people are more annoyed at how she portrayed her life for her kids but was selfish to use drugs in front of them. Selfish and sad. Poor boys.”
“You’ve no idea what you’re talking about quite frankly,” responded Geldof. “Yet another who has bought into the bulls***.”
The user later deleted the comment after receiving criticism. Fifi ended the dialogue on a more positive note:
“Thanks for your beautiful words of love and support for myself and Peaches. I appreciate it more than ever today,” she wrote.
This week’s inquest heard that the mother of two is believed to have lied to her husband, Thomas Cohen, about her drug usage and hid heroin in the loft. Police discovered a £500 bag of heroin with a high purity level of 61 per cent — three times the normal concentration of the street drug – in a bedroom cupboard.
Cohen said his wife had been addicted to heroin but had come off it after long treatment and counselling by drug workers.
He said she undertook weekly tests which she insisted were negative — but now believed that her testimony was untrue.
