18 March: His Excellency Dr Mauricio Rosales-Rivera and Senora de Rosales were received in farewell audience by The Queen and took leave upon His Excellency relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of El Salvador to the Court of St James's and upon retiring as Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps.
Her Majesty invested His Excellency with the Insignia of an Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
His Excellency Monsieur Ramadane Barma was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from the Republic of Chad to the Court of St James's.
His Excellency was accompanied by the following member of the Embassy: Madame Ismael Aziza Baroud (First Secretary).
Madame Barma was also received by Her Majesty.
Mr Andrew Wood (Deputy Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present and the Household in Waiting were in attendance.
The Queen, Affiliated Colonel-in-Chief, received Major-General Richard Peck, Colonel, The Queen's Gurkha Engineers.
The Queen, Patron, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, received the Baroness Robson of Kiddington (President), Mrs Patricia McCoy (Chairman of the Council) and other members of the Council who presented Her Majesty with a bronze sculpture to mark the Centenary of the Society.
The Queen this afternoon opened the new Jodrell Laboratory at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and was received by the Chairman of the Trustees (Mr Robin Herbert) and the Mayor of Richmond (Councillor Gina MacKinney).
After touring the laboratory extension, escorted by the Director (Professor Ghillean Prance), Her Majesty unveiled a commemorative plaque.
The Lady Susan Hussey, Mr Robin Janvrin and Major James Patrick were in attendance.
18 March: The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Irish Regiment, this morning left Heathrow Airport, London, for the Republic of Cyprus.
Captain Rupert Maitland-Titterton and Major Joyce Gillison were in attendance.
18 March: The Prince Edward, President, the Lord's Taverners, this evening attended the Eve of Rugby International Dinner at the London Hilton, Park Lane, London W1.

18 March: The Princess Royal this morning visited the Defence Animal Centre of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps at Melton Mowbray and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Leicestershire (Mr Timothy Brooks).
Her Royal Highness, President, British Knitting and Clothing Export Council, this afternoon visited HJ Socks Group Limited, Coventry Road, Hinckley, and Mill Hill Knitwear Limited, 51 Druid Street, Hinckley, Leicestershire.

18 March: The Duke of Kent this morning officially opened the University of Wolverhampton's Shropshire Campus, Telford, Shropshire and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Shropshire (Sir John Dugdale).

The Duke of Kent, President, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, this evening attended a 75th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Festival Hall, London SE1.
