11 May: The Lord Annaly was received by The Queen upon his appointment as a Lord-in-Waiting to Her Majesty.
His Excellency the Reverend Percy Sipho Mngomezulu was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the Kingdom of Swaziland in London.
His Excellency was accompanied by the following members of the High Commission:
Mr Bernard Gumedze (Counsellor), Mr Micah Dube (First Secretary - Information), Mr Clement Mabuza (Trade Attache), Mr William Shongwe (Third Secretary) and Miss Jessie Mabuza (Administrative Attache).
Mrs Mngomezulu was also received by Her Majesty.
Sir David Gillmore (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present and the Household-in-Waiting were in attendance.
The Governor-General of Belize and Lady Young were received by The Queen.
Mr Nicholas Elam was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Mrs Elam was received by Her Majesty.
The Marquess of Normanby was received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by his father, the late Marquess of Normanby.
The Queen, Patron, this evening attended a Reception at St James's Palace to mark the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Royal Archaeological Institute and was received by the President (Mr Andrew Saunders).
The Lady Susan Hussey, Sir Kenneth Scott and Major James Patrick were in attendance.
The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, this morning from the Republic of South Africa.
Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davis was in attendance.
His Royal Highness, Honorary Life Member, Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, later presented The Prince Philip Award for 1993 and Certificates of Merit for Research and Development in the field of Dairy Farming at Buckingham Palace.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, British Athletic Federation, afterwards presented the 1993 Award and World Record Plaques at Buckingham Palace.
His Royal Highness, Freeman and Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, this evening attended the Court Ladies Dinner at Fishmongers' Hall, London EC4.
Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davies was in attendance.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Mr Norman Macleod (Sheriff Principal of Glasgow and Strathkelvin) at the Funeral of Mr Robert Innes (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the City of Glasgow, the Right Hon the Lord Provost) which was held in the Church of St Mary, Glasgow, this morning.
The Prince Edward was represented by Miss Anne Smillie.

KENSINGTON PALACE
11 May: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, Member of the Court of Assistants of The Haberdasher's Company, today visited Aldersey Church of England Primary School at Bunbury, Cheshire, to mark the School's 400th Anniversary.
Her Royal Highness was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Cheshire (Mr William Bromley Davenport).
The Hon Mrs Whitehead was in attendance.
11 May: Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, today opened the refurbished buildings at 446 Fulham Road, London SW6.
Mrs Michael Harvey was in attendance.
The Duke of Gloucester today visited Lancashire and was received on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Lancashire (Sir Simon Towneley).
In the morning His Royal Highness visited Arthritis Care's New Mayfair Hotel, New South Promenade, Blackpool, and afterwards visited the Headquarters of the North West Museum and Art Gallery Service, Griffin Lodge, Blackburn.
In the afternoon The Duke of Gloucester visited Towneley Hall, Burnley, and later visited the Rossendale Museum, Whitaker Park, Rawenstall.
Major Nicholas Barne was in attendance.

11 May: The Duchess of Kent, Patron, this morning opened the International Social Service of the United Kingdom Spring Fair, Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, London W8.
The Duchess of Kent, Patron, this evening attended a concert as part of the Newbury Spring Festival at St Nicolas's Church, Bartholomew Street, Newbury and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr John Henderson).
Fiona, Lady Astor of Hever was in attendance.
The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, the University of Surrey, was represented by Professor Anthony Kelly at the Memorial Service for the Lord Nugent of Guildford which was held at Guildford Cathedral, Guildford, Surrey, this morning.
