2 May: By command of The Queen, the Earl of Airlie KT (Lord Chamberlain) was present at Glasgow Airport this afternoon upon the departure of The President of the Portuguese Republic and Senhora Soares and bade farewell to Their Excellencies on behalf of Her Majesty.

1 May: The Duke of York, Patron, this evening attended the Spring Dinner, the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Meols Drive, Hoylake, Liverpool.

Captain Rupert Maitland-Titterton was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Prince of Wales, Honorary Air Commodore, visits Royal Air Force Valley, Anglesey, Gwynedd. Princess Michael of Kent, Patron of Sparks, as guest of honour, attends a Family Race Day, Kempton Park Race Course, Surrey.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
