BUCKINGHAM PALACE

19 December: By Command of The Queen, the Viscount St Davids, Lord-in-Waiting, was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this evening upon the Arrival of The King and Queen of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of Her Majesty.

19 December: The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, the Royal Irish Regiment, this morning attended a Passing-out Parade at the Regimental Depot, Ballymena, Northern Ireland, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for County Antrim (Captain Sir Richard Dobbs).

Major Joyce Gillison and Captain Rupert Maitland-Titterton were in attendance.

KENSINGTON PALACE

20 December: The Princess of Wales, Patron, National Children's Orchestra, this evening attended a Concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London SE1.

Miss Anne Beckwith-Smith and Captain Edward Musto RM were in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Prince of Wales pays a private visit to Czechoslovakia. The Duke of Kent attends a Silver Jubilee Concert of the Malcolm Sargent Fund for Children at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7. Princess Alexandra attends a Carol Concert in aid of the Mental Health Foundation at the Guildhall, London EC2. Princess Michael of Kent attends 'Carols by Candlelight' at Holy Trinity, Brompton, London SW3, in aid of Home-Start.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Scots Guards.
