14 December: The Duke of Edinburgh, President, The Maritime Trust, this evening attended a Dinner in the Cutty Sark, Greenwich, London SE10.

Mr Brian McGrath was in attendance.

14 December: The Prince Edward, Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Special Projects Group, this evening held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

KENSINGTON PALACE

14 December: The Princess of Wales, Patron, Chicken Shed Theatre Company, this evening attended a Gala Performance at the Place Theatre, 17 Duke's Road, London WC1.

Mr Patrick Jephson was in attendance.

14 December: The Duke of Gloucester today visited Derbyshire and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Derbyshire (Colonel Peter Hilton).

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior, Order of St John, was present at a luncheon to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of St John Cadets and the conclusion of the (Over to You John) Appeal at the Royal Regency Banqueting Suite, Wharncliffe Road, Ilkeston.

Afterwards The Duke of Gloucester visited Hardwick Hall, Doe Lea, Chesterfield and later visited Bolsover Castle, Bolsover.

Major Nicholas Barne was in attendance.

Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was represented by Mrs Michael Harvey this afternoon at a Memorial Service for Lady McCreery which was held at St Luke's, Chelsea, London SW3.

The Queen holds an Investiture. The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, attends the annual meeting and reception of the Per Cent Club at the Banqueting House, London SW1. The Princess of Wales, Patron, Turning Point, attends the conference 'The Voluntary Sector in the Next Decade' at Merchant Taylors' Hall, London EC2. The Princess Royal, Patron, National Association of Victims Support Schemes, attends the sixth meeting of the Advisory Board, London SW1; and attends a Reception at Canning House, London SW1. The Duchess of Kent, Patron of the Spastics Society and of Unicef UK, attends the 'Joy to the World' Christmas concert in aid of the Spastics Society, Unicef and the Royal Marsden Hospital, at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7. Princess Alexandra attends a performance of the Messiah, arranged by 'Crisis' in aid of homeless people, at Central Hall, London SW1. Prince Michael of Kent, Patron of the Television and Radio Industries Club, attends their Christmas luncheon at Grosvenor House, London W1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 7th Duke of Edinburgh's Own Gurkha Rifles mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Gurkha Band.
