The Prince and Princess of Wales later attended the Royal Variety Performance at the Dominion Theatre, London W1.

5 December: Princess Alexandra, accompanied by the Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy, this evening attended a Gala Performance of The Nutcracker by the English National Ballet at the Theatre Royal, Norwich.
Her Royal Highness was received by Her Majesty's Lord- Lieutenant for Norfolk (Mr Timothy Colman) and the Lady Mary Colman was in attendance.
