1 October: The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, the Royal Corps of Signals, today visited 264 (SAS) Signal Squadron, Stirling Lines, Hereford, and was received by the Master of Signals (Major General Archie Birtwistle).
Mrs Andrew Feilden was in attendance.
KENSINGTON PALACE
1 October: The Princess of Wales this morning received the 1992 Marshall Scholars at Kensington Palace.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, the International Spinal Research Trust, this evening attended a Reception at Willis Corroon, Ten Trinity Square, London EC3.
Miss Anne Beckwith-Smith and Captain Edward Musto RM were in attendance.
1 October: The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, President, the Girl Guides Association, held a Reception at Kensington Palace this afternoon following the presentation of Brooches to those who have become Queen's Guides.
Lady Aird was in attendance.
1 October: The Duchess of Gloucester today visited Hampshire and was received on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Hampshire (Lieutenant-Colonel Sir James Scott Bt).
Her Royal Highness opened the Village Community Centre at Colden Common, near Winchester, and afterwards opened the new School Hall at Horndean Community School. Later The Duchess of Gloucester opened the Co-operative Housing Scheme, Buriton.
Mrs Euan McCorquodale was in attendance.
YORK HOUSE
1 October: The Duchess of Kent this morning visited Thomas Edward Mitton House, Milton Keynes, and was met on arrival by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire (Commander the Hon John Fremantle).
Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Second Phase of Milton Keynes General Hospital and later opened Pagnell Grange Nursing Home for the elderly in Newport Pagnell. And finally The Duchess opened the Olney Centre for the community, Olney.
Mrs Julian Tomkins was in attendance.
ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS
The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief of the Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales'), visits the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion, Sennybridge, Powys, Wales. Prince Edward, visits British Indian Ocean Territory (Diego Garcia). The Princess Royal, Past Master, the Worshipful Company of Farriers, attends the Farriers Registration Council Meeting, Royal Veterinary College, London NW1; and as President, Save the Children Fund, attends a Summer Fun Day at Hanbury Manor Hotel, Thundridge, Hertfordshire. The Duchess of Gloucester attends the Midlands Women of the Year Luncheon, in aid of Winged Fellowship, at the National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull, West Midlands.

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts The Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards mounts The Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Grenadier Guards.
